On 16 May 2010, Dog Bite Prevention Week was launched, representing a sign of the increase in dog attacks and, naturally, an accompanying rise in dog bite claims.

Three year old Demi Franklyn was viciously mauled by a neighbour’s dog. Demi was playing with the Japanese Akita outside her home when it seized her, breaking her jaw and causing horrific injuries to her head and neck.

Three and half month old Jaden Joseph Mack was mauled to death by two family pets. The baby was being looked after by its grandmother, Denise Wilson, 53, on Friday 7th February when the attack happened. His parents, Alexandra and Christopher Mack, both 30, married a year ago and were out on the night of the attack.

Tracey Thier, 49, has fled the country after breaching the terms of an ASBO and refusing to pay her fine.
Thier owned the £1.1million Grade II listed mansion, Beltwood House in Sydenham Hill, Dulwich, South London, which she bought in 2001.
